Kristie LimStirling Times

BALCATTA-based indoor cricket team Seamer Snakes will be the only WA men’s representative in the inaugural National Indoor Cricket League Finals in Melbourne this weekend.

The finals series features 12 men’s and six women’s teams, who will face off at Springvale Indoor Sports from September 1-3.

Snakes left-handed all-rounder Clint Hinchliffe (20), a 2016 National Performance Squad and Warriors rookie member, is part of the Snakes’ travelling squad.

He previously played for Cricket Australia XI against Pakistan in January and Joondalup Districts.

Hinchliffe said the finals series was an avenue to bring more people to the game.

“The preparation has pretty good, we had about 13 players rotating through games,” he said.

“We have won eight straight games.

“I have not played against players from other states but others have.”

Hinchliffe said indoor cricket was more fun because he could play with his friends.

He said he would focus on his goal to play for Australia and WA after the finals series.

Seamer Snakes will play Northcote Knights at Springvale Indoor Sports, Melbourne on September 1.
