INNALOO started well against Baldivis, kicking 6.3 (39) to 1.1 (7) with a five-goal wind in the first quarter, but could not claim the win.

At the halftime mark, the Bulldogs were still up by 27 points.

The Bulldogs wasted scoring opportunities in the third quarter, handing over a one-goal lead to Baldivis at the last change.

Heading into the final quarter, Innaloo trailed Baldivis, 11.7.73 to 12.7.79.

However, with the breeze behind them, Baldivis stormed home with a six-goal last quarter.

The final score was Baldivis 18.13 (121) to Innaloo 13.9 (87).

Tony Jones and Robbie Clinch both scored four goals each while veteran half-black Sunny Nguyen and Tre Riley also starred.

Club president Rowan Carson said Nguyen was in good form despite his age.

“Sunny Nguyen was best on ground on the half-back line,” Carson said.

“[He is] 42 years of age but played like a youngster.”
