Football: Mixed results for North Beach and Scarborough in WAAFL

SCARBOROUGH remain second on the WA Amateur Football League A-grade competition ladder after a win on the weekend.

The Gulls played Wembley at home, winning 14.11 (95) to 6.10 (46).

North Beach started strongly in their match against ladder leaders Fremantle CBC.

But they were overrun by the home team in the second half, going down 11.12 (78) to 9.8 (62).

Teams take a break this weekend and matches will resume on July 14, with Scarborough taking on North Beach at home.

In Women’s A-grade, North Beach had a big win over University on Sunday.

Sophie Godfrey kicked three goals for the Tigers, who won 6.5 (41) to 2.5 (17).

North Beach are second on the ladder and have a bye next week before playing Quinns District on July 14.
