Former WAAFL president John Davies receives WA Football Commission Life Membership

NORTH Beach Amateur Football stalwart John Davies has been awarded a WA Football Commission (WAFC) Life Membership for his long service to the football community.

Davies, who will be formally inducted at the annual WAFC Life Members’ Association end-of-year function on December 5 at Subiaco Oval, has been involved in the sport for almost 50 years.

WAFC Chairman Murray McHenry said Davies was thoroughly deserving of the recognition.

“John has both given a lifetime of service to football and really embody the dedication and passion that helps make football such an important part of our community and culture,” Mr McHenry said.

Davies’ extensive resume includes playing 200 games in the amateur football league, serving as a WA Amateur Football League (WAAFL) board member and as WAAFL president as well as a range of other roles throughout his career.
