YOUNG Balcatta athlete Leah Allen is a gold-medal winner just six months after taking up the sport.
The eight-year-old West Balcatta Primary School student joined Camboon Little Athletics Club last October.
She made the Little Athletics WA State Track and Field Championships this month for four events.
Leah won gold in the 400m girls under-9 race and silver in the 200m.
