Julian WrightStirling Times

Heavy lifters will converge at the beachside amphitheatre to vie for the top title in their category at the bench press competition.

Men and women will compete; more than three competitors are expected to lift more than 200kg.

Monica Cook, who has been competing for 20 years, is back after missing last year’s competition, to reclaim her title.

“I missed last year’s competition because I was on holiday, but I want my title back,” Cook said. “I have been training harder.”
