AN Osborne Park mother has won a State award for her contribution to junior football.

Mimma Rombola was named the WA Football Commission’s Auskick Co-ordinator of the Year for her volunteering efforts at Stirling Saints Junior Football Club.

Mrs Rombola is passionate about children, especially girls, playing sport, with two of her daughters involved in Auskick.

She was recognised for her efforts running the club’s Auskick program, including organising a range of events for children and parents to make the program fun, and helping to increase player numbers.

Mimma Rombola won WA’s Aauskick Co-ordinator of the Year 2019.

“She has organised shopping centre visits to promote the club, Auskick Under Lights with glow in the dark glow sticks and footies (and) a half time game for the Auskickers at Optus Stadium,” club member David Traynor said.

“We are all super proud of Mimma at Stirling Saints Junior Football Club.”

Mrs Rombola will travel to Melbourne for the national awards in May.
