THE North Beach Tennis Club will have a free open day on November 28.
The club was established in 1960 on the Charles Riley Memorial Oval Reserve with a membership nomination fee of 5 shillings and started with eight grass courts.
Today, the club has eight synthetic, four hard and 12 grass courts.
President Ross Graffin said it would be a great day out for the whole family.
“Tennis regulars and those who have not picked up a racquet in years are invited to head to the club between 1pm and 5pm to enjoy free tennis followed by a sausage sizzle,” Graffin said.
“The open tennis day promises to be a lot of fun, and you don’t need to be Roger Federer or Serena Williams to come along and join in.
“It might just be the start of a new interest and new friendships.”
