AN Osborne Park karate club can say with certainty it has some of the best students in the State.

Eleven students from AKKA Martials Arts Academy competed at the WA State Karate Championships this month and all of them medalled.

Kelly Boar, who runs the academy with her husband Kelvin, said the children’s experience levels ranged from State team members to those entering their first competition.

“Kelvin and I are extremely proud of these young kids being driven for success and able to handle pressure at such a young age,” she said.

“Obviously they wouldn’t be able to achieve all of this without the support and commitment from their parents and siblings and for that we are truly grateful.”

Seven students are aiming for State team selection to compete in the national competition in August.
