Premier Cricket: Scarborough heads into break in ninth after heavy defeat to Perth

SCARBOROUGH heads into the Premier Cricket Christmas break down in ninth after a heavy defeat to Perth at Fletcher Park in their round eight match on Saturday.

The Gulls were set a target of 310 by the Demons and it proved a task too much, bowled out for 154 from 45 overs.

Perth looked for maximum points by enforcing the follow on but Scarborough got through at 6-139 from 43 overs by stumps.

Jeremy Boyle top scored for the Gulls with 39 in the first innings.

Sam Moylan (32) and Ed Barnard (44) led the way in an improved second innings batting effort.

Scarborough will enjoy the fortnight-long break before the season resumes with one-day fixtures on January 7.

The Gulls are away to Joondalup.
