SCARBOROUGH Tennis Club was the most successful club in this year’s junior summer league pennants competition winning seven premierships.
Scarborough’s division 1 and 11 teams claimed titles in the boys 14 and under and the girls won the division 3 and 6 flags while in the junior girls 12 and under, the club won divisions 1 and 2.
The Junior Green Ball division 3 title also went to Scarborough.
Bayswater Tennis Club won four titles and Cottesloe three.
Scarborough Tennis Academy coach Rick Willsmore said there had been a big emphasis on team.
“Finish your singles and win or loss go out there and play your best doubles and support your team mates,” Willsmore said.
“All of the kids train with us as part of Scarborough Tennis Academy where we work with them in squads and sometimes private training sessions to help them improve their game.
“We noticed a lot of improvement from the start to the end of the summer season in the kids so to achieve this type of success is a great reward for the players and coaches.”
