The win assures the Senators a playoff spot, with one game to go.

The Senators led by six at the end of the first quarter but were down by one at half time.

The third quarter was huge for the Senators, leading by 18-points and coasting to the win.

Jordan Wild continued his steady play with 28 points, Cody Ellis had 23 points and nine rebounds, Cory Cooperwood ended the night with 22 points and 11 rebounds and Josh Throns finished with 15 points and five rebounds.

In the women’s game, coach Glenn Ellis said despite playing their best game yet, his side were defeated 106 to 97 by a great team who were forced to lift to their very best.

‘The score line looked like a men’s (game) score,’ he said.

‘Our defence was very good and we forced tough shots forcing Lakeside to make tough shots.

‘I was extremely impressed with our standard of play leading up to finals next year.’

The Senators play the Rockingham Flames in the last game of the regular season on Friday night with the women’s tip off at 6.30pm and men’s at 8.30pm. The night will also pay tribute to Senators and Perth Wildcat great Mike Ellis retiring his Senators’ jersey.
