Gwelup Croatia captain Sebastian Munoz, goalkeeper Tom Dixon and star duo Nicolas Tatasciore and Isaac Koomson were among 16 players who earned a spot in the team.

The competition involves three matches against Malaysian opposition.

WA was undefeated in 2014 and lost only once last year in three matches played in monsoon conditions.

Coach Rob Pagnoni said the 2016 squad was capable of even better performances after two months of preparation.

“The team is at least as strong as last year and the boys have shown a great attitude during training and in the matches we’ve played,” he said.

“We’ve added some new faces to the group and there are others who are quite experienced on this tour, so we’re in a good position.

“With the players that we’ve got and the preparation we’ve had, we’re aiming to at least come back to Perth undefeated.”

Pagnoni said there were never easy games against the opposition teams.

“The Malaysian people are always great hosts and we’re very well looked after,” he said.

“But when we get out on the pitch, it’s always extremely competitive, which is exactly what we want.”
