Soccer: Stirling Lions in upset NPL WA win

STIRLING Lions had a surprise win over Floreat Athena in round 10 of the National Premier Leagues WA.

The bottom-placed Lions enjoyed their second win of the season by upsetting third-placed Floreat away from home on Saturday.

Stirling won 2-1, with goals coming from Darren O’Riordan and Gino Hampshire.

Balcatta has moved into seventh place on the league ladder after its had a 1-0 win over ECU Joondalup at home.

The two teams will face off on Saturday, June 1 when Stirling hosts Balcatta at Macedonia Park in Balcatta.
