Stirling Junior Football Club get powerful coaching experience

Kristie LimStirling Times

STIRLING Junior Football Club had the chance to experience top-level coaching and explore the headquarters of Port Adelaide Football Club on Tuesday.

Two club members, John Mottolini and Nicholas Peovitis, received the opportunity through the Fox Footy Clubs Rewards program.

They were treated to a tour of Alberton Park and a coaching seminar led by Port coach Ken Hinkley and his coaching staff.

National Fox Footy Club Rewards Ambassador and former St Kilda Football Club captain Danny Frawley said the program looked to reach out to local sporting clubs that were “the heart of local communities”.

Stirling had previously participated in charities events and hosted school holiday clinics for culturally and linguistically diverse children in the local community.

“Hopefully the experiences they undertake as part of the program ensures they continue to grow and develop as a football club and as a strong hold presence in their local community,” Frawley said.

The program rewarded 40 clubs to meet an AFL coaching panel in Melbourne and Sydney, while another 17 clubs were invited to a club’s facilities during training or match day.
