STIRLING Raiders Water Polo Club is seeking players to join its women’s teams.

The club’s division one team has won back-to-back premierships in the two years it has been running.

It also fields a division three team in the State Seniors League, which placed third last season.

Vice-president Meredith Arns believed the club’s early success was due to its strong social atmosphere.

“We set ourselves the goal to have one social event every month, even during off-season,” she said.

“This meant our players were bonding over mini-golf, ten pin bowling, dinners and drinks, which could be seen in the camaraderie and teamwork in the pool.”

Players of all experience levels are invited to be part of the weekly training sessions at Claremont Pool on Mondays from 6pm.

“We cater our training sessions to all abilities so there is no need to feel daunted when coming along, and our coach has a wealth of knowledge to help get our players fit and confident in the pool,” Ms Arns said.

The club also offers Flippa Ball (junior water polo) at Greenwood College for children aged seven to 12.
