Swell Times: Junior surfers shine at Pyramids Beach

Neil Atkinson, The Surf BoardroomStirling Times

A STAR-studded field of future surfing champions recently converged on Pyramids Beach near Mandurah for the second event of the WA Junior Surfing Titles.

Clean and consistent one to two-foot waves provided surfers with contest-worthy conditions that were dominated by Peel locals and South-West surfers aged nine to 17.

The blue-ribbon event, the under-18 junior boys, was hotly contested and taken out by Gracetown’s Ben Gradisen over Danny Benedetti and Seth Van Haeften, of Margaret River.

Charlie Castleden, of Cottesloe, took fourth position.
