Swell Times: WA’s Macaulay beats runner-up world champ Peterson in Bali

Neil AtkinsonStirling Times

IN the wake of another epic Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach contest, the world’s best male and female surfers are in Bali for the third stop on the World Championship Tour, the Corona Bali Protected.

Gracetown local Bronte Macaulay took down 2018 Bali Protected women’s champion and world championship runner-up Lakey Peterson.

This means Bronte is sure to have more confidence than ever in the lead-up to the Margaret River Pro, not to mention the advantage of her local knowledge.

Margaret River’s Jacob Wilcox received a wildcard for Bali, giving him a good opportunity to iron out any creases against the world’s best, assisting in his hopes of qualifying for the 2020 season and the Margaret River Pro trials.
