The event is one of the biggest and most popular youth football tournaments in the world, according to coach Nick Mammoliti, who said the team was looking forward to participating.

‘Volkswagen Junior Masters gives under 11 and 12 boys club football teams from across the country the chance to represent Australia in the world finals,’ Mammoliti said.

‘They compete against teams from around the country and if they win the tournament, they will earn the right to represent Australia in the worldwide tournament in Rome next year.’

Mammoliti said the young team was also looking for sponsorship in order to get to the Sydney competition and was hoping fundraising would help with the costs associated with travelling.
