Veteran players guide team to Cricket Premier win

VETERANS Wes Robinson and Martin Branston guided Scarborough to their first win of the Premier Cricket Competition over Fremantle last Saturday.

The Gulls, who lost to Gosnells in a thriller in round one, triumphed by 67 runs against Fremantle at Stevens Reserve.

Scarborough thoroughly outplayed the Port Boys with a brutal bowling display setting up the comfortable win.

Batting first, the Gulls set a respectable total of 172, with captain Robinson compiling 62 from 75 balls.

Branston tore through the Port Boys in response, taking 4-27 and reducing the home team to 5-33.

Fremantle were eventually bowled out for 105, a great display from the Gulls, who host Claremont-Nedlands then play travel to Mount Lawley in this weekend’s Saturday-Sunday double.
