WACA Premier Cricket: Gulls on march after tough win over Mt Lawley

SCARBOROUGH are on the march after a tight win over Mt Lawley granted the Gulls a top-six spot in round six of Premier Cricket on Saturday.

Despite some early Hawks partnerships on day two, the Gulls always had the fixture under control, eventually bowling the gallant visiting side out for 339.

Scarborough had amassed a huge score of 8-396 on the first day last week and that was always going to be a tall order for the struggling Mount Lawley.

With the Abbett Park deck becoming easy to bat on, the hosts turned to spin, with skipper Wes Robinson outstanding for the Gulls with 4-70.

Cody Rose was the other multiple wicket-taker with three.

The Gulls now move into the top six, with finals becoming the goal.
