SCARBOROUGH has Joondalup precariously placed following day one of the WA Premier Cricket two-day clash at Abbett Park.
The Gulls had the Centurions at 2-80 at stumps after scoring 256.
The decision to send the hosts into bat immediately yielded results for Joondalup, taking out both openers at 2-16.
However, Nicholas Maiolo and Josh Philippe had other intentions, quickly reversing the momentum. The pair put on a blistering 92-run partnership before Maiolo was dismissed on 68 from 50 balls.
Philippe, however, managed to find another gear, as he and Liam Knight added another 88 runs in a tough fourth-wicket partnership.
Sitting at 4-196, Scarborough struggled to keep the runs flowing, losing its final six wickets for 60 runs, with Joondalup’s Harry Larmett taking four of the final six wickets.
