SCARBOROUGH has pulled off a stunning upset to hand South Perth its first loss of the Premier Cricket season, as the Gulls move up to ninth on the table.

Ryan Knight was outstanding for the Gulls at Richardson Park, taking three wickets, while captain Wes Robinson also chimed in for two wickets.

Burt Cockley marked his return to first grade with a couple of wickets, as the Sky Blues were bowled out for 223 in reply to Scarborough’s 247.

South Perth had been cruising at 5-188 before Cockley broke a crucial stand between Darius D’Silva (63) and Sam Birchall (13).

The Gulls finished the day at 2-70.
