World title a dream

After an 11-year hiatus, Temnyk (34) returned to the stage last year to compete in the National Amateur Body Building Association (NABBA) Federation in Figure Class Two.

‘I won the 2012 NABBA WA Overall Figure and went on to win 2012 NABBA Australian Overall Figure,’ she said.

This year, The Fitness Box personal trainer has her sights set firmly on competing internationally.

‘I recently won 2013 NABBA WA Overall Figure, 2013 NABBA Australia Class Two Figure and on June 8 won the NABBA World Class Two Figure, which was held in Tuscany, Italy,’ she said.

‘I had a line-up of 12 phenomenal athletes from around the world, including, Italy, United Kingdom, Brazil, Ireland, Russia, New Zealand and Czech Rep.

‘To have won was absolutely surreal, a dream come true.’

After joining a gym at age 16, Temnyke slowly phased out swimming and her daily ritual became intense weight training.

‘Eighteen years later and my passion, enthusiasm and training continue ” it has become my lifestyle,’ she said.

‘My training involves a combination of intense weight lifting, interval training, drop sets, supersets. The human body can easily plateau’
