“It’s a small token of recognition for all the sacrifices and hard work that has gone into establishing Kalgoorlie Fashion Week.

“Everyone in my category had such compelling stories, I really didn’t think I would win.”

AusMumpreneur co-founder Peace Mitchell said the awards recognised the growing number of mothers succeeding in business while balancing motherhood.

“I was blown away by the entrepreneurial spirit, resilience and professionalism of the award winners,” she said.

Co-founder Katy Garner said the number of women starting businesses had continued to grow in the past 12 months.

“Of the 668,670 women operating a small business in Australia currently, a total of 47 per cent are mums with children at home,” she said.
