MORE than 1600 people attended the fifth annual Bennett Springs Fair hosted by Beechboro Christian School.
Ellenbrook Christian College, Compassion Australia and Swan Christian College’s Swan Connect took part in the April 1 event, which featured a range of stalls, educational activities, live music, fair food and rides.
Head of campus Michael Bolan said the school community was pleased to be able to host the event.
“This event is a great way for families to have a wonderful day at a very affordable price, and experience the strong and engaged Beechboro Christian School community,” he said.
“The significant contribution from volunteers made the event run smoothly and provided activities for all to enjoy.”
Children’s activities included animal petting, science experiments, face painting, monster balls, inflatable rock climbing and riding on Segways, provided by Segway West.
Event organiser Marisa Streeton thanked the staff members, parents and students, past and current, who volunteered their time.
“Even on the day itself, several ex-Beechboro Christian School students asked me if there was anything they could do to help, and they jumped right in to help with face painting,” she said.
“This proactive approach and desire to contribute perfectly characterises our Beechboro and Ellenbrook students.”
