COMEDIAN Dave Callan will headline as one of the hilarious acts booked for this year’s Midlandia festival.
The hairy Irishman will present his show A Little Less Conversation, a high-energy show that takes on some of the music film clips through the ages from Prince, to S Club 7 and the Backstreet Boys.
The Melbourne-based performer said he was looking forward to visiting Midland again after many years, having grown up in Bassendean and having frequented the suburb as a child.
“I used to go to Midland Gate in the ‘90s, so it will be interesting to see how it’s changed,” he said.
“My mum still lives in Perth in Armadale, so I always enjoy coming home.
“It’s going to be great for locals and for local business to have these shows comes to Midland.”
Callan said his show featured amazing back up dancers, who made the show look good.
“The show is about 70 per cent choreography and 30 per cent me making silly moves,” he said.
“We recreate some of the best video clips in history, the stuff people were dancing to in Northbridge in the ‘90s.
“It works for me because I’m a hairy looking guy in funny costumes trying to do some serious choreography.”
Callan will be joined by Peter Helliar, Matt Hale, Charlie Pickering and Tom Gleeson at the week-long festival.
Callan will perform at Midlandia on Saturday March 25 at 8pm.
