The Catholic school play is taking on the more daring themes of family issues, puberty, bullying and young relationships in their rendition of the surfing teenager’s tale.

Based on the Tim Winton book, Lockie Leonard, the play is about a teenage surfie who moves to a remote coastal town with his family.

He starts at a new high school with no friends, his dad is a cop and he has to deal with problems at home with his family.

Since the auditions last December, the student actors have been studying the book and TV series, rehearsing after school and building props for the show

Tickets to the plays from June 26 to 28 are available from www.trybooking.com/ 82399 for $15 for adults, $12 for students and $10 for children.
