Aldi to open in Ellenbrook next week

MORE West Australian shoppers can expect to enjoy high-quality products at permanently low prices, when Aldi opens the doors to its new store in Ellenbrook next week.

From Wednesday November 16, Aldi Ellenbrook will provide the community with grocery products and popular biweekly special buys, together with fresh fruit, vegetables and bread delivered daily.

Reinforcing its commitment to being the price leader in the market, Aldi has also confirmed West Australian shoppers will not pay higher prices compared to its stores on the east coast, for all products except fruit and vegetables, due to regional sourcing.

Aldi WA managing director Anna McGrath said the supermarket chain was committed to helping customers stretch their dollar further without compromising on quality.

“West Australians will not pay any more for their groceries than Aldi shoppers on the eastern seaboard, with the exception of fresh fruit and vegetables,” she said.

“These products are purchased state by state, and therefore there will be minor variances in pricing for these items.”

Aldi Ellenbrook will follow Aldi’s new store format with redesigned shelving and expanded wooden produce bays, as well as energy efficient LED lighting and chillers.

It will also have sleek signage and point of sale displays.

The announcement follows Aldi’s recent store openings in Belmont Forum, Kwinana, Lakeside Joondalup, The Square Mirrabooka, Halls Head, Australind, Harrisdale, Rockingham, Camillo, Southern River, Mandurah, Butler, Mundaring, South Lake, Armadale, Wattle Grove and Waikiki.

Aldi will open 19 stores in Western Australia before the end of the year, with up to 70 stores in the coming years as part of its long-term expansion.

Aldi Ellenbrook will be located at the corner of Pinaster Parade and The Promenade, Ellenbrook.

Opening hours will be Monday to Wednesday 8.30am to 8pm, Thursday 8.30am to 9pm and Friday 8.30am to 8pm.

Saturday hours will be 8.30am to 5pm, while Sunday hours will be 11am to 5pm.

The store will be supported by 15 to 20 employees, offering career opportunities for local residents.
