Twenty per cent of all sales from the exhibition, which opened on Saturday, will go towards helping all creatures great and small.

Ms Petrovski – a guinea pig owner – said she was thrilled to be combining her two passions.

“This is the first time I have exhibited on my own,” she said.

“There will be something to suit everyone’s taste – I have a variety of acrylics, water pastels and oil paintings for sale, and I’ll be doing live art demonstrations too.”

Those who want a portrait of their beloved pet are also in luck.

“Bring a picture down of your pet and I will paint it,” she said.

RSPCA WA community engagement executive manager Maree Daniels said the organisation was grateful for Ms Petrovski’s support.

“We are delighted that Karen has chosen to support RSPCA WA through the sale of her beautiful artwork,” she said.

“Karen’s paintings are stunning and we’re particularly fond of the animal paintings, of course,” Ms Daniels added.

As RSPCA WA relies on donations and community support to generate more than 90 per cent of the funds required to sustain its animal protection work, fundraising by members of the community is very important.

“People like Karen who fundraise in the community are a huge support for RSPCA WA,” Ms Daniel said.

“They dedicate their time, and in some case their skills, to help animals in need.

“It’s both admirable and selfless.”

The exhibition runs daily from October 1-25 at Houghton Wines, 148 Dale Road, Middle Swan.

It is open from 10am-4pm daily.
