AVELEY will get into the Christmas Spirit next week with the magic that is Carols by Candlelight.

The free event, which is run by The Lions Club and sponsored by Stockland and the City of Swan, will include favourite carols to sing along to and some special dance performances.

Impersonator PINked will be the MC for the event.

Students from more than six local schools will be singing as well as a number of solo performances, and songs by the Shalom House male choir.

Steering committee organiser Jan Oliver said the night would be a great family friendly event and a great way to start the festive season.

“We’re hoping to attract a bigger crowd this year, with a lot of great acts and music in our line-up as well as pre-show entertainment and food trucks,” she said.

The smoke- and alcohol-free event will include a kids bouncy castle, face painting, train rides and a special visit from Santa.

Aveley Carols by Candlelight will kick off from 5.30pm on December 2 at Aveley Playing Fields on Bolero Road.
