AVELEY couple Roisin Sullivan and Jamie Jones have launched an online program they hope will take kids’ fitness to a new level.

The occupational therapist and her fitness instructor husband created The Kids Coach, a series of 15-20 minute interactive fitness videos that children can follow in their own home.

Ms Sullivan said she hoped it would turn children’s sedentary screen time into a much more active experience.

“On average, children are now spending between four-eight hours on screen based activities each day,” she said.

“As parents, it can be a struggle to balance screen time and physical activity and so we want to help regain that balance, putting the power back into parents’ hands.”

The program will officially launch at the Fitness and Health Expo at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from August 20-21.

It is open from 10am-5pm, and general visitors can pre-book tickets online to save or pay $25 at the door.
