FRIENDS of Bella Petersen have been praised for organising a touching memorial service at Ellenbrook Secondary College (ESC) on Friday in memory of their classmate who was murdered last weekend.

The ESC community gathered in the school gymnasium on July 20 armed with blue, white and red balloons to remember the 15-year-old, her mother Michelle and brother Rua.

In a post on Facebook, the school thanked all who attended.

“We’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended the service for Bella Petersen this morning,” the post read.

“All balloons, flowers, cards and gifts have been collected and given to her family.

“Some of our Year 10 students worked incredibly hard to organise this touching event for their friend, with support from the Student Services team.”

Bella’s girlfriends were praised for doing a “beautiful job”.

“Girls, you did a beautiful job and we’re all proud of your efforts,” the post went on.

“To the local community, the donation of your time and services to assist the College during this difficult time is greatly appreciated.”
