TRAFFIC flow from Ellenbrook to Muchea will be improved under the final stage of the NorthLink WA development, announced this week by Transport Minister Bill Marmion.

The $175 million project is the third and final stage of the $1.12 billion NorthLink WA project, which was awarded to CPB Contractors.

Mr Marmion said the final section of highway would improve safety and efficiency for road users and residents.

“Northlink WA is a vitally important project, generating 1000 jobs,” he said.

“The final section involves construction of a free-flowing dual carriageway between Ellenbrook and Muchea, with new interchanges at Stock Road, Neaves Road and Brand Highway.

“Traffic congestion will be vastly improved as drivers will be able to bypass up to 16 sets of traffic lights and two railway crossings.”

Construction for stage three of the highway will begin this year, with completion expected by 2019.

Swan Hills MLA Frank Alban said the project would bring huge benefits to Ellenbrook and Bullsbrook.

“This project will improve road safety, generate new job opportunities and ensure unprecedented access for local residents in and around Swan Hills,” he said
