Bindoon Hall makeover progressing well

Staff ReporterThe Advocate

All internal asbestos has been removed, the internal wall frames are complete and the lining is being installed.

Sources say there is already a marked improvement to the sound quality in the hall.

The stage has been removed so that it can be refurbished and levelled. On the outside, the weatherboards have been either refurbished or replaced with the gutters and facias straightened to ensure the building has smoother lines.

The external painting is scheduled to start this month and will take about three weeks.

The planned completion date for the hall is early September, which would just be in time for the 21st Annual Chittering Wildflower Festival from September 11 to 14.

Planning will soon be underway for the Grande Olde 1940s Ball on November 1.

The event will celebrate the hall’s 75th anniversary, along with its facelift.
