Brandon bags scooter title

Brandon took on 19 other riders from eight qualifying rounds conducted across the Perth metropolitan and WA regional areas over the past four months.

He beat Issac Dearlove in an Ellenbrook qualifying event on January 17 to progress to the final at HQ, in Leederville.

In the championship event, Brandon beat High Wycombe rider Jayden Ovenstone (14) and Leeming’s Thomas Nolan (14), who tied for second place.

Brandon finished on 185 points, eight clear of his rivals.

A number of other locals performed well in the finals.

Jordan Cooper (11), of Stratton, was runner-up in the under-11 scooter category and Daniel Howlett (18), also from Stratton, was third in the Open scooter section behind Jiordan Giacoppo (17), of Balcatta, and Tyler Marinovic (16), of Beechboro.
