A MAN was hospitalised last Thursday night when he rolled his Holden Commodore in Herne Hill shortly after an aborted police pursuit.
Police say they pulled the 24-year-old Koongamia man out of the car window before it was engulfed by flames.
The pursuit started about 10pm when police observed a silver Holden Commodore with false number plates on their patrol of the Midland area.
Officers caught up to the vehicle at the intersection of Great Northern Highway and Reid Highway, and attempted to stop it.
Police allege the driver then accelerated away to evade police.
Officers stopped the pursuit when the car gained distance, but further down Great Northern Highway the car hit a median strip, rolled and caught on fire.
The single occupant of the car was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.
