Caversham: 71yo man killed after being hit by car

AN ELDERLY man was killed after he was hit by a car in Caversham last night.

Police said the 71-year-old Bassendean man was walking along West Swan Road near the Lilac Hill Sports Ground entrance about 6.45pm when he was struck by a silver Holden Commodore ute.

He received critical injuries and died at the scene.

The driver, a 55-year-old man from Alexander Heights, was not injured and is assisting police.
