REJOICE cheese lovers, WA Cheese Week is back later this month.

Mariane Bornelli from WA Cheese said the week-long celebration had grown since its debut two years ago with participants from as far south as Denmark to Gingin.

“The week aims to raise the awareness of our local cheese industry through yummy cheese filled events, Meet the Maker opportunities, daily cheese tastings, cheese making classes and more,” she said.

“To make this delicious week even better we will be launching the local cheese festival curds&WAy which is set to be the hallmark event.

“The festival is an immersive, fully sustainable event focused on promoting West Australian cheese, local goodies and drinks that pair beautifully with good times, good music, art and delicious cheeses.

“It will also promote and support our West Australian dairy farmers.”

As part of the event The Cheese Barrel in Millendon will be holding daily complementary cheese tastings of WA cheese.

WA Cheese Week runs from May 27 to June 2.
