Chittering Shire disappointed at closure of health centre

Montana ArdonThe Advocate

CHITTERING Council has expressed its disappointment at the sudden temporary suspension of medical services at the Chittering Health Centre.

The Shire Administration was advised that Jupiter Health Services would be closed from today until Saturday, February 4 – re-opening on Monday, February 6.

The Council said the reason for the close was due to the two doctors sitting exams, which formed part of their accreditation process.

“While Jupiter Health had notice of the absences, they were unable to organise a replacement doctor, partially due to the exams also affecting services at their other practices,” a Shire spokeswoman said.

“Following the Shire’s contact today, Jupiter Health has advised that they are endeavouring further to make arrangements to supply cover for some of the days during this two-week period.”

Should there be a partial service available the Shire will share this information via its normal communication channels (website, Chatter, social media and the post office noticeboard) along with having the details available at the Shire Administration.
