City of Swan: free training session on finding funding and writing grants

CITY of Swan residents are invited to a free training session on finding funding sources and writing grants.

Mayor Mick Wainwright said the workshop would be hosted by the Swan Volunteer Resource Centre in conjunction with MaD Enterprises.

“Many organisations in our community rely on grant funding for programs, activities and events,” he said.

“But it can be a daunting task to apply for your first grant.

“This workshop will provide information about how to find the right grant for your organisation and how to put your application together.”

Midland/Guildford Ward Councillor Mark Elliott said the workshop had been designed for people new to the grant process.

“There are many different places to look for grants and different funding sources suited to different organisations and activities,” he said.

“Through this workshop, participants will get an understanding of where to find grants as well as practical advice to make their application successful.”

The workshop will be held at the Old Midland Court House from 9.15am to 1.30pm on Tuesday, September 13.

Morning tea and a light lunch will be provided.

To register, RSVP before September 7 by calling 9278 9690 or emailing swan.volunteers@swan.wa.gov.au.
