THE first anniversary of the Ethel Warren Bullsbrook Community Centre will be celebrated on October 19 with a free family event.

The City of Swan facility includes the library, Bullseye Youth Centre and the City’s Bullsbrook Rural Place Office.

There will be a StoryWalk for children, birthday cake, a scavenger hunt, virtual reality, art exhibition and youth centre activities.

People can leave a message about what they like about the facility in a time capsule.

“The centre has been a great success since it first opened in July 2017, and I look forward to celebrating this first milestone together with our community,” Swan Mayor David Lucas said.

The centre was named after Ethel Warren, a founding member of Bullsbrook Historical Society, instrumental in setting up the Bullsbrook Museum and a long-term staff member at Bullsbrook Community Kindergarten.
