CITY of Swan ratepayers who pay their rates on time could be in the running to win one of 12 prizes worth $100,000.
The City’s rates prize draw will be held next month, with two brand new cars and three holidays up for grabs for ratepayers who pay their rates by August 31.
Mayor David Lucas said a special event would be held later in the year to recognise the award winners.
“There are two trips to the United States up for grabs, including one to New York and one to California, valued at $9000 each,” he said.
“A trip around Australia valued at $9000 is also in the prize pool, as well as a Holden Equinox SUV valued at over $27,000 and a Holden Astra valued at $21,000.”
Deputy Mayor Kevin Bailey said paying rates early benefit the whole community.
“Rates are a simple and effective way of paying for essential community services like libraries, pools and waste collections,” he said.
“Receiving rates payments early in the financial year put the City in a strong financial position which allows us to make our region a better place to live, work and play.”
