TWELVE City of Swan ratepayers have won almost $100,000 worth of prizes for paying their rates on time.

The Vines resident David Lewis took home the top prize of a 2017 Ford Mondeo worth $41,000, while Stratton residents Barend and Stephenie Klassen took home a $18,000 Ford Festiva.

Other prizes included a Mexican and Spanish holiday and gift cards for petrol, home wares and furniture, and jewellery.

The City holds a draw each year for ratepayers who pay their rates in full and on time.

Swan Mayor Mick Wainwright said all the prizes were purchased from local suppliers and winners were selected randomly by a computer.

“It is a lot of fun and a great way to reward our ratepayers for being diligent and helping the City because by paying your rates on time you are not only contributing to making the City a better place to live, you are ensuring it can deliver essential services and infrastructure to the community all year round,” he said.

“We have some very generous and community minded local businesses, who were keen to help us reward our local community for which we are very thankful.”
