CITY of Swan councillors have voted to adopt the Carbon Management Plan, which aims to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The plan aims to manage emissions resulting from City of Swan services and operation.
City of Swan chief executive Michael Foley said in the report it was important to keep finding ways to manage the City’s carbon footprint.
“As a local authority it is important to consider using accountable and auditable process, how we can better manage our carbon impact in the light of resolving evidence, increasing community demand and emerging legislative approaches to emission management,” he said.
“This plan provides important direction to this task and attempts to align the organisation towards the achievement of our stated carbon efficiency targets.”
