Upper Reach Winery and Broads Restaurant hosted the event, also attended by distillers, brewers and industry representatives in the region.
Swan Valley and Regional Winemakers Association president Duncan Harris said it was a great time of year to reflect on a successful vintage.
Our hands are now clean and the stickiness from the fortified (wines) is washed from our clothes, he said.
He said the Valleys favourable climate was more predictable than its European counterparts and made for solid vintages year in, year out.
The spring of last year was warm and at one stage I thought we might be picking grapes before Christmas, Mr Harris said.
However, December was cool and set things up for us quite nicely.
In February we had 40mm of rain, which was just after most of our white pickings and just before reds were picked, which gave the grapes a drink and as one winemaker said, The reds are just fantastic this year.
Guest speaker Matt Katich spoke about changes in the table grape industry and the tourism opportunities arising.
