CORRINA Woodman cannot wipe the smile off her face when she is working at The Vines Resort.

Ms Woodman, who has Down syndrome, is supported by Midland-based company Essential Personnel, who arranged her job as a food and beverage attendant three days a week.

“Essential Personnel comes out to The Vines weekly to support Corrina,” disability employment co-ordinator Ashley Brittain said.

“We make sure she’s working through her task list, if there are any issues with her pay and anything else.

“The support is ongoing, and will continue to be.”

Ms Woodman moved from York to The Vines with her family in 2012, after working in hospitality and cleaning jobs at York Hospital for 12 years.

The Vines Human |Resources manager Steve Balgera said despite only being at the resort for six months, she was a great fit with the team.

“It’s worked really well, and this is something I’d look at continuing to do.”

Mr Balgera said Corrina’s tasks included clearing tables, clearing room service trays from outside rooms and sorting cutlery in the kitchen.

“Corrina is a hard worker; she’s very reliable and always shows up on time,” he said.

“If I had 250 staff like Corrina I’d be pretty lucky.”
