Dozens of tributes in Ellenbrook town square after leukaemia takes Aveley boy Kai Nell

DOZENS of tributes have been left in the Ellenbrook town square for young Aveley boy Kai Nell, who lost his two-year battle with leukaemia on Thursday.

Kai (3) underwent two bone marrow transplants, but unfortunately the aggressive form of leukaemia returned.

An overseas donor was found after the local community sparked a global search for a match, but it was too late.

Kai’s parents Kara and Richard said they were still determined to find answers to cure childhood cancer, and more funding should be allocated to research.

The tributes will stay in the square until January 24.
