DPAW takes advantage of cooler weather for prescribed burns

Justin BianchiniThe Advocate

THE Department of Parks and Wildlife took advantage of cooler weather last week to do a prescribed burn in bushland 10km southeast of Kalamunda.

It also burnt an area 25km northeast of Bindoon.

The aim of the department’s burns is to create low-fuel areas in a mosaic of burnt and unburnt patches, which help stem the spread of bushfires.
