DPaW warns motorists to take care during Gnangara State Forest prescribed burn

THE Department of Parks and Wildlife (DPaW) has advised motorists near the Gnangara State Forest to take care on the roads as a prescribed burn, about 2km west of Ellenbrook, is underway.

DPaW advised motorists to turn headlights on and carefully follow traffic management signs when driving through areas affected by smoke.

People with conditions exacerbated by smoke should take precautions in line with their medical advice for these circumstances.

Prescribed burns create low-fuel areas in a mosaic of burnt and unburnt patches across the landscape, which help stop the spread of bushfires.
